Film Buying Tips

Get on the hunt for expired film. Expired film can provide some of the most dreamy and mysterious images many of us see in the Lomography world.  Due to the recent submersion of digital photography, finding and purchasing expired medium format film can either prove to benefit or be the ultimate downfall for the Lomo photographer. The downfall  is finding expired film can be difficult and likely turns into somewhat of a treasure hunt.  Also, due to the decrease in supply and demand for medium format film, it can become quite costly when it is found. However, on the flip side, outdated film can also be found discounted by some suppliers for the fact that the film is indeed expired and some commercial vendors usually would prefer to just rid their stock of it.

Film Developing Tips

Lack of darkroom access can make developing become quite costly to say the least.  Local labs and even some pharmacies or drug stores can be reasonable, however, expect longer developing and process times. And most only have capability to develop but not print. Keep in mind some old camera shops are still in business and might still have capability to develop medium format film. In this area it most definitely helps to know how to develop or process your own film.
